One of our amazing attorneys at Werge & Corbin Law Group, Joe MacHatton, graduated from the Colorado Diverse Attorney Community Circle (CODACC) Program!  

This program focuses on building a community of legal professionals of diverse lived experiences and backgrounds to connect with one another through training retreats, group activities, and small group meetings and mentoring. 

Joe had an enriching experience meeting with insightful individuals and discussion groups with whom he engaged on a monthly basis.

Lawyer-Dad Podcast Features Tom Werge

Dad Esq. was launched late last year by attorney Matt Korn, who is also a partner at Fisher Philips and a father of four. His vision for Dad Esq. is centered around providing a place for lawyer-dads to find support, be recognized, and to have an outlet to help maintain the balance between busy legal careers and fatherhood.

Tom had the honor of having an amazing discussion with Matt and sharing stories about his family, band, and the law firm. The two spoke about subjects including the joys and challenges of Tom’s legal career, proud moments with his three kids, his wife Halie’s battle with cancer, and surprising aspects of being both a dad and a lawyer. It’s that time of year again—Colorado Gives Day is here! Donations are already being accepted with the official date just around the corner. 

Colorado Gives Day is one of Colorado’s most impactful 24-hour giving events, raising an incredible $53,227,070 last year for Colorado’s non-profits! Every day, local nonprofits work tirelessly to improve lives, strengthen communities, and empower individuals to make a difference. Through their efforts, the Colorado Gives Foundation helps these organizations grow and thrive year after year.

Project Worthmore: Project Worthmore serves our refugee and immigrant neighbors by providing a wide array of services including a dental clinic, a farm, a food share program, English language classes, community navigation, and so much more.  

SAME Café: SAME is a donation-based, fair exchange restaurant that feeds everyone regardless of ability to pay. Anyone can eat by volunteering time, donating money, or giving produce in exchange for a meal! 

Sonoran Institute: The Sonoran Institute is working toward guiding the North America to a more resilient water future through educational resources, community engagement, and research efforts.

Werge & Corbin Law Group Moves to Historic 1736 Race Street

For the past four years, Werge & Corbin Law Group has thrived within the collaborative environment of Steno, a coworking space that provided not only a base of operations but a launching pad for our firm’s growth. In that time, we’ve deepened our team’s expertise, forged lasting relationships, and handled complex and challenging cases that have helped define our firm and our approach to client care. Now, as we continue to evolve and adapt to the needs of our clients, we’re excited to announce the next big step in our journey: our own office space. 

Our new home at 1736 Race Street isn’t just a building, it’s a historic gem within Denver’s City Park West neighborhood. Constructed in the early 20th century, the property reflects a time when Denver's cityscape was undergoing rapid expansion, transitioning from a frontier town to the bustling urban center it is today. For the last 25 years, it has served as a home to law firms, most recently housing the respected practice of John Fuller and his team at Fuller Law. Their presence here has set a strong foundation for the legal community, and we are grateful to continue that legacy. 

Our move to this location marks more than just a change of scenery—it embodies our commitment to providing top-tier legal services, tailored specifically to each client. The new space allows us to continue expanding our team and offers a refined, welcoming environment where we can better serve our clients and colleagues. This move aligns with our long-term vision to deepen our roots in Denver and keep evolving in ways that benefit those who trust us with their most pressing legal matters.

Celebrate Self Care Day with IOME: Prioritizing Well-Being at our Firm

Self-care is essential for maintaining mental, emotional, and physical health, and we're excited to highlight this on Self Care Day, July 24th. This year, we're thrilled to collaborate with IOME a Colorado-based therapy group dedicated to promoting self-care, to bring a special treat to our team.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Kayln, a talented massage therapist from IOME, to our office. Kayln's expertise provided our team members with a much-needed break and a chance to relax and rejuvenate right at work. Everyone who wanted a massage had the opportunity to enjoy a moment of peace and relaxation, enhancing their well-being and productivity.

For almost three years, we've relied on IOME as our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to support our team's mental and emotional health. IOME offers our team members free therapy sessions and discounts on local health and wellness services, making self-care accessible and integrated into our work culture.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Kayln and IOME for making this possible. Their commitment to self-care aligns perfectly with our values, and we're grateful for their support in fostering a healthier, happier work environment.
