Veronica Phifer, Associate Attorney
veronica@werge.law
Veronica has litigation experience, ranging from discovery dispute hearings to depositions to drafting motions for summary judgment. She has litigated cases in state and federal court, and she has successfully defended several subpoenas duces tecum in Denver County Court.
Prior to joining Werge & Corbin Law Group, Veronica worked with the City and County of Denver in its Civil Litigation division. There, she represented the City in tort liability cases and Section 1983 cases, including a First Amendment Free Speech case. She drafted motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, deposition outlines, and more, but she wanted to pivot back into two areas of law she is passionate about: intellectual property and nonprofit law.
She previously worked with Werge & Corbin Law Group as a law clerk during her third year of law school at the University of Colorado. During law school, she also was a Student Attorney with the Samuelson-Glushko Technology, Law, and Policy Clinic where she argued before the Federal Communications Commission in support of more easily accessible closed captioning display settings.
She also spoke before the Colorado Attorney General’s Office to encourage the State to establish more consumer-friendly rules in the Colorado Privacy Act. Further, she interned with the Public Interest Network, which provides legal assistance to nonprofit organizations across the country.
Veronica loves to travel, spending 4 months in Japan during her last semester of law school. She also loves to read, run, and spend time with family and friends (and her rescue pup, Maisie).
