On Friday, August 28, 2026, a Denver jury returned verdicts in favor of WCLG client Jenn Spykerman in a partnership dispute, awarding her over $800,000. The jury came back in only three hours, including after eating lunch. This was a complete vindication for our amazing client, a cutting-edge aerospace technology leader who led software integration for NASA's Orion Crew Module and developed software still operating aboard national security satellites.

The WCLG team proved that, although there was no written agreement, the parties formed a partnership by conduct, including by holding themselves out as managing partners and co-founders for 18 months. Under Colorado law, “the association of two or more persons to carry on as co-owners a business for profit forms a partnership, whether or not the persons intend to form a partnership.” C.R.S. § 7-64-202. The jury found that the parties’ pursuit of a government subcontract to provide artificial intelligence coding and transformational services to the U.S. Army met this standard, because Jenn herself signed the contract for the business.

From complaint to jury verdict, this case may have set a record for speed – actually going to trial on the very first setting – a mere 14 months from when we filed. Throughout the process, Jenn was an invaluable part of her own legal team. Her meticulous attention to detail and willingness to gather and organize the information surrounding her business relationship helped us understand the full story and develop the evidence necessary to present her case to the jury.

"I walked away from this experience knowing what it feels like to have an extraordinary legal team truly stand beside you. They knew my story, they cared about the outcome, and by the time we walked into that courtroom, I trusted them completely. Working with Matt, Tom, Kelsey, Anna, and Julia, and the rest of the team was one of the best parts of an otherwise incredibly difficult experience." - Jenn Spykerman

Jenn is one of the best clients we have ever had at Werge & Corbin Law Group, and we are proud to have represented her. We fought hand-in-hand, by her side, and obtained the result she deserved. Her case is a reminder that when you know you have been wronged, you have to assert your rights. Stand up for what you built, fight for what is yours, and trust the process.

And, when in doubt, put your best piece of evidence on a huge posterboard:
